City

The City of York is 4miles from Westergate House and can be accessed by car bus or park and ride. Depending on the weather you can walk the historic walls, leisurely stroll the Shambles and old-fashioned streets or board a river trip if the weather is fine.  

Otherwise engross yourself in the tranquillity of York Minster, step back in time in the Castle Museum or amuse yourself with the idiosyncrasies of Frank Green  in the National trust owned Treasurers House before joining a guided Ghost walk to learn of the ghoulish goings on in the City after dark.     

A roam around the National Railway Museum, just beyond the City walls will keep you fully entertained or a few miles outside York at Elvington you can stroll around the Yorkshire Air Museum  situated next to  Elvington racetrack which was designated an emergency landing strip for the space shuttle and hosts many track days. Of course this may be an idea for the men whilst the ladies visit the Designer outlet !
