Grand old heritage vibe
Lots of kerb appeal attracted my attention and I booked. Patrons were attentive, welcoming and so helpful; it was like home from home. Very convenient for York and Selby and their attractions. Rooms had every facility and there was a comfy sitting room for chilling out. Would definitely recommend and would book again. Thanks guys.

We have stayed here several times
We have stayed here several times and have never had any issues or problems and have had an excelllent stay each and every time. Hillary and Paul are excellent hosts and nothing is too much trouble from the second you walk through the door.We usually book to stay in the Yorkshire Pudding and Parkin room, which is lovely and has a bath and a shower. Each day freshly baked cake is left in the room and it highlights what an excellent baker Hillary is.Breakfast is varied and I am not afraid to say is the best I have ever eaten anywhere in this country or indeed Europe.Westergate is located just outside of York, but a 10 minute drive and you are at the Designer Outlet center, which is worth a visit. There is a bus stop 3 minutes walk from the B&B where buses run into the center of York every 20 minutes, with a return costing only £5 (at the time of this review).If you planning on visiting York, then I highly recommend staying at Westergate House - we are already checking out diary for our next visit.

A valid debit or credit card is required at the time of booking.(Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express.)

To secure your reservation, a deposit of £25 will be taken for direct bookings.

Your deposit is non-refundable but may be transferred to an alternative date, provided the change is made at least 14 days prior to your arrival date.

The remaining balance will be charged to the card provided on the morning of your arrival, unless you have arranged an alternative method of payment with us in advance.

Cancellations for booking direct

We understand that sometimes plans change. If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please let us know as soon as possible. This helps us manage our availability and may allow us to offer your room to another guest.

Within 14 days of arrival your deposit becomes nontransferable unless we can relet your room
Within 7 days We will charge for the first night of your stay if we cannot re let your room.
Within 48hrs or you fail to arrive without notification you will be charged for the whole of your stay if we cannot re-let your room

If you curtail your stay once commenced you will be charged for the whole stay.

For bookings made through third-party websites such as Booking.com please check the booking policy on your booking,
As a small independent business with a limited number of rooms, this policy reflects the blockbooking patterns often associated with third-party platforms and helps us manage availability fairly for all guests.

The extra bits

Weekend bookings are for a 2 night stay unless otherwise agreed .
Bookings for more than 2 rooms will require an additional non- refundable deposit of £100plus £25 per room
Bookings for the entire house will be the responsibility of the lead booker and the total payment must be made 4 weeks prior to the eventor we reserve the right to cancel the entire booking and re-let all rooms.

We are an adult only accommodation
In order to safeguard our guests with allergieswe cannot accept pets in the main part of the house or bedrooms.
We do have two dogs who live in our private quarters but do not venture in the guest areas

Check in times for guests booking directly with us are between 3.00pm and 7 pm If travelling after work and your arrival time is after 7pm please contact us to arrange someone will be around for a later check in. For the comfort of other guests we cannot accept check ins after 10.30 pm

Payments can be made by debit or credit card by card machine, online card payment system or BACS
We have a strict no smoking policy throughout the house and if it is ignored we reserve the right to charge £100 to your card for additional cleaning or undue damage . If you tamper with any fire alarms we will ask you to leave immediately with no refund as you have endangered other guests.
